My husband Terry and I often play at weddings.  Flute music, violin, duets, solos, classical, hymns… but this time we got to play jazz too!  We played music from the 30s and from our vogelJoy CD!  And that means trumpet and drums too.

You might think vogelJoy music couldn’t possibly work for a wedding but you will be pleasantly surprised!  We mixed up the outdoor afternoon cocktail hour with a variety of music and sounds for everyone.  With trumpet, violin, flute, voice and great tracks we had all the music covered.

We played instrumental versions of songs such as “A Fine Romance”, “I’ve Told Ev’ry Little Star”, “Isn’t It Romantic?”, “Loveliest of Trees” (John Duke), “This Little Rose” (William Roy), “Baked A Cake” (from our CD – you know these ones ;) ), “A You’re Adorable”, “Five Pennies Medley” and “The Daisies” (S.Barber).  Also, we included Latin tunes such as “Libertango” (Piazzolla), and various classical violin and flute duets and solos.  There was something for everyone.

The backyard was set up beautifully — my pictures don’t do justice to how pretty it was. Wish Designs did all the decorating and setting up and we all just loved it!

This was an extra wonderful day because it wasn’t just a wedding — it was the couple renewing their wedding vows!  And it’s true — these days if you are married 10+ years you should celebrate!  And celebrate somehow in some way every year after.

One exciting part of a celebration like this is that the children get to be there to see something really beautiful between the couple!  And they get to take part and have fun too.

The kids love to sing and love our songs! That makes one fun time.

Singing “A You’re Adorable”:

And their all time Favourite “Jenny Jenkins”:

Great singing girls!!!!  It was SO fun =D

The bride came down the aisle to the song “I’ve Told Ev’ry Little Star” (Oscar Hammerstein II, Jerome Kern) with Terry on trumpet.

We love playing music for family weddings like this.  You can tell this family loves fun, music, beauty and each other. Such a good day!
